Tibor Urban Graduate Level 3

Tibor was born in Slovakia and studied sports at university, focusing on martial arts and fitness. He began practicing martial arts from a young age with Karate and Judo before focusing on Aikido for some 7 years. After moving to the UK, Tibor began training in Krav Maga and was impressed by its effective training methods and simple solutions.

Tibor trained intensively with the Institute and was identified as a potential instructor through his detailed and focused approach to learning and was subsequently selected for the Institute instructor sponsorship scheme. He underwent accelerated training before attending the civilian instructor course and joining the Institute Instructor Team at Graduate Level 2.

Tibor is also a qualified fitness instructor, nutritionist and sports massage therapist. He has a keen interest in eastern medicine, philosophy and culture.

Andy Conroy Graduate Level 2

Andy spent some 20 years studying martial arts, from traditional styles such as Karate and Kung Fu to sporting systems such as Kickboxing. He discovered Krav Maga and was immediately impressed with its no nonsense approach to self defence.

Andy was a founder club member of the Institute in Essex, joining the classes as soon as they were launched. He began training intensively with the Institute and showed a keen interest in how the system was developed and the teaching methods involved. Andy passed all of the Practitioner grade exams in the Krav Maga system reaching Practitioner 5 before being selected for the Institute potential instructor sponsorship scheme.

Andy attended the civilian instructor course completing it with exemplary results and was awarded Graduate Level 2.

Sam Treacher Graduate Level 4

Sam began training from a young age in Jiu-Jitsu before moving into Kickboxing. When Sam discovered Krav Maga, he was immediately impressed with the realistic methods of training. He began practicing Krav Maga with the Institute and progressed very quickly during training, displaying a natural ability to help others progress and was subsequently selected for the Institute potential instructor sponsorship scheme.

Sam underwent accelerated training under the tutelage of Institute Chief Instructor Joe Ambrosino before attending the civilian instructor course. After passing the course with exceptional results, Sam began teaching Krav Maga as part of the Institute full time Instructor Team.

Prior to joining the team, Sam worked as both a Fitness Instructor and a Security Officer. In his spare time he enjoys specific fitness training using kettle bells and is working towards his instructor certification for the law enforcement sector.

Williams Tape Graduate Level 2

Williams was born in France and served 11 years in the French Foreign Legion where he was a fully qualified commando, un-armed combat and fitness instructor.

Due to his extensive experience and teaching ability, Williams was selected for the Institute instructor sponsorship scheme and began accelerated and intensive training in Krav Maga before going on to successfully complete his instructor course in Netanya, Israel.

Prior to training in Krav Maga, Williams spent time practicing Kung Fu and also Thai Boxing where he gained Instructor status.

Mat Fox Graduate Level 4

Mat has been an instructor with the Institute since it was established in 2006. He spent a number of years practicing the Krav Maga system before successfully completing the civilian instructor course.

Mat is a full time Police Officer with the Metropolitan Police having served 14 years on the streets of London before qualifying as an Officer Safety Instructor, responsible for teaching fellow Police Officers in the use of baton, handcuffs and CS Spray as well as physical restraint methods.

Mat is a certified instructor with the National Federation of Personal Safety holding a BTEC Level 2 in Physical Restraint Practice and BTEC Level 3 in Advance Coaching in Physical Restraint. He is also a qualified Emergency Life Support and Automatic External Defibrillator Instructor.

Jon Bullock Institute Director Expert Level 1

Jon is the Director of the Institute responsible for the overall management of the club. Jon co-founded the Institute after 7 years in the British Army, Royal Military Police (RMP), primarily conducting Close Protection Operations overseas. Since leaving the Army he worked for 5 years in security for a prominent high net worth individual worldwide.

Jon is one of the highest graded instructors in the UK at Expert Level 1 and is also a VIP Instructor, qualified to teach those involved in close protection duties.

Prior to Krav Maga, he gained his Black Belt in Kickboxing and has trained at the Rawai Thai Boxing Camp in Thailand. Jon is also a Director of ReSolve Risk, a UK based provider of security and risk management services.

Joe Ambrosino Chief Instructor Expert Level 2

Joe is the most experienced instructor in the UK at Expert level 2, he is the Chief Instructor of the Institute and is responsible for the continued development of training standards.
Born in Brazil, Joe spent over 20 years studying traditional martial arts such as Judo and Karate before qualifying as a Krav Maga instructor in Netanya, Israel. He then went on to co-found the Institute of Krav Maga UK.
In 2009, Joe qualified as a Krav Maga Military Instructor in Krakow, Poland and Krav Maga Juniors Instructor in The Hague, Holland. He then returned to Israel where he successfully achieved Expert Level 2, making him the most qualified instructor in the country.
